Portland Making Progress Executive Roundtable

  • Portland, Oregon United States (map)

About this Event

We are inviting executives and leaders because this moment matters. Across Portland, business leaders are asking real questions: Is the city stabilizing? Who is stepping up? Are we coordinating in a meaningful way, or reacting in silos? We’re convening a small group of senior executives from Portland Means Progress for a focused breakfast roundtable to lean into those questions together.

The morning will open with a moderated conversation between Rukaiyah Adams, CEO of the 1803 Fund, and President Jayathi Murthy of Oregon State University — two leaders who are making long-term investments in Portland and Oregon despite economic and reputational headwinds. Their dialogue will center on what institutional courage and steady commitment look like when cities feel uncertain. Mayor Keith Wilson will also share his vision for the city’s future.

From there, we will shift into a structured executive working session focused on four areas where coordinated business leadership can make a measurable difference now:

  • Intentional Purchasing

  • Workforce Development

  • Investing in Portland

  • Activating Downtown

This is not a listening session or a symbolic gathering. We will capture specific commitments, identify barriers that require alignment, and produce a concise executive brief to share with local and state leadership.

This is a step — not a sweeping solution — but it is an important one. We don’t want you to miss the opportunity to help shape it.

This event is exclusive for executives of businesses located in the City of Portland committed to actions through Portland Means Progress with more than 5 employees.
