Celebrate & Benchmark

< Back to Roadmap

Building an inclusive workplace culture can be challenging. It requires sustained effort, persistence, and heart. That is exactly why celebration matters. Pausing to recognize progress keeps people motivated, builds momentum, and reinforces that the organization values this work.

Celebration does not have to be grand, but it does need to be genuine. Here are a few practical ways to mark progress meaningfully:

  • Use benchmarks as moments of recognition. When your team completes a significant milestone, take time to acknowledge it publicly and share what was accomplished.

  • Express appreciation for the effort, not just the outcome. Culture change requires people to show up in vulnerable, challenging ways. Recognizing that courage and commitment goes a long way.

  • Track your progress transparently. Keep a running record of what has been done, what is in progress, and where there is still opportunity to grow. Sharing this openly builds organizational trust and accountability.

  • Include feedback in your celebration. When employees share that something has improved their experience at work, that is worth highlighting. It shows the work is real and it matters.

Build celebration into your regular practices. Appreciations at the close of meetings, recognition in all-staff communications, and community-building moments with your culture and inclusion team all help normalize this work as part of how your organization operates.
