A five-part course meant to serve Portland Means Progress’s most committed professionals and provide in-depth strategic training for racial diversity, equity and inclusion.
About this Event
The 5-week Intensive Course for Internal Champions will provide an opportunity for professional development that offers a more intimate learning space and rapid-pace deep dive into tactics and strategies for racial inclusion.
Week 1: Trauma Informed & Centering BIPOC
Week 2: Building Collective Will for Racial Justice
Week 3: Setting up Structures for DEI
Week 4: Ensuring Impact through Change
Week 5: Building Tools for Staff DEI
The Intensive Course for Internal Champions is based on the TechTown Internal Champions Toolkit - a guide for employees on the frontlines of racial equity efforts, which is available for download here.
This will be available to all Portland Means Progress and Tech Town companies. There will be two groups running simultaneously for the 5 week period. This session is for internal champions: this is for all employees who see themselves as leaders in DEI internally or who want to know what that would look like.
The other series is for Executives; the audience is CEOs, Business Owners, Directors, Board Members and anyone who sees themselves as holding significant power in their company decisions.
Court Morse of Action Path will facilitate the series. Action Path provides proven racial equity strategies to dismantle racism and create an inclusive company culture, turning good intent into good action.
Sessions for the Internal Champions Series will be held each Tuesday from April 5 to May 3 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Zoom.
