Making Work Work, Part 2

  • Prosper Portland 220 Northwest 2nd Avenue Portland, OR, 97209 United States (map)

Work can be hard. It's even harder when we are disconnected from the organization, its values, and our colleagues. And there's no one size fits all solution. Leaders and stakeholders need to address the specific problems they are trying to solve with long term, sustainable, and scalable answers.

In partnership with the Technology Association of Oregon and the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA), we invite you to a 2 Part series on "Making Work Work." In Part 2, we will cover "Psychological Safety" and "Mentoring and Inclusion."

Psychological Safety

Psychological safety is the belief that you won't be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns, or mistakes. In this session, we will hear from panelists about the importance of psychological safety and how it can positively or negatively affect culture, team dynamics, and future growth.

- Learn how to share this concept with everyone in your organization

- Develop training or ways to teach the importance of safety at work

- Identify potential gaps or threats to the safety of your employees and develop plans to help solve these issues

Mentoring and Inclusion

This session will highlight the importance of providing personal and professional growth for all employees starting with on-boarding all the way to the creation of affinity groups. Panelists will share how mentorship and inclusion creates productivity, longevity, and trust between departments and leadership.

- Create sustainable and scaleable ways to onboard new or junior talent

- Develop standards for junior talent to learn and achieve deliverables

- Ways to involve those that typically don't get involved

Human resource professionals will obtain SHRM credit for attending the sessions.
