An online connection event for Portland Means Progress businesses & racial equity practitioners
Since Portland Means Progress launched in 2019, we have been working through the most ethical and thoughtful way to make connections between businesses and racial equity practitioners. We are excited to share that we have more than 20 of the area’s top practitioners ready to engage in this critical work. While there are many excellent leaders who are outside of this process, we hope that our group of practitioners will be a critical resource for you.
It's also important that companies are good partners, so we will be creating tools to use and trainings to attend for companies preparing to engage in culture change work with these amazing practitioners. The racial equity connection event and programming is scheduled for Wednesday, January 12. 2022 - in what we are calling "Equity Commons." Equity Commons will include an online platform with profiles of our practitioners, where you can read about their super powers and sign up to attend meetup events. This inaugural event will include speed-dating, training, and the launch of the racial equity practitioner profiles webpage.
Portland Means Progress organizations will need to complete the Business Readiness Assessment before receiving access to the Equity Commons platform.
The agenda for the day will be sent out closer to January. We look forward to connecting with our Portland Means Progress organizations and the racial equity practitioner community!
